Tagged: notification, stats
The sales counters are incrementing on Free Downloads which I will be using a lot but those counters are not being pulled into the Stats page. It would be nice if I could also track Free Download quantities just like sales.
Conceivably, I can also see the value of being able to compare two products sales/download history.
Scenario 1: I can imagine offering a digital product for sale at a nominal price as well as Free if they sign-up and it would be nice to be able to compare performance.
Scenario 2: I can imagine wanting to track individual product sales/download stats in comparison to a bundled version of those products.
I may be missing the bigger picture if most people do this outside of the eStore product using Google Analytics.
Usually people use Google Analytics to track clicks on buttons and links on the site. However, I am not entirely against some form of stats for downloads. I can potentially add a new tab under the “stats” menu for showing stats on downloads (which will include the free downloads too). Are you using a squeeze form to give out your free item?
I will give Analytics a try. So far I am using the same approach for all free downloads which is the just a squeeze form using the Free Download Ajax shortcode as shown on this page: http://wp.me/p1RYyA-ZA
Thanks for considering the suggestion.
