I am selling an ebook that is being stored in my Amazon s3 account. I seem to be able to get everything working with the eStore plugin, but PDF stamper doesn’t seem to work with remote files. I tried doing a manual stamp on a file hosted in my website directory and it worked fine.

Can I still stamp PDFs if they are hosted elsewhere?

    Thanks

    B

    By the way,

The error msg I received when trying to manually stamp a remote file was:

    [admin deleted error]

Nope, PDF stamper can’t stamp remote file yet. The PDF parser needs the file to be on the same site to index.

The issue is that the PDF stamper needs to be able to index the PDF file first before it can do anything with it. When the file is hosted remotely it becomes an external file and the PDF stamper can only do a few things that an external agent can do due to security restriction of the external server.

The way to get around this would be to copy the remote file temporarily to your own server then perform the stamping and then deleting the temporary copy of the file. From your perspective you won’t see the difference. I have yet to try this option but no point in me trying if no one needs it.
