I have regrouped & regained my composure. I have a very relaxing problem, it causes me no stress.

I found MailChimp off your site & love the Monkey, he makes me smile & stay relaxed. I am trying to do everything with him.

~My first issue is: Where do I find the list address on Mailchimp to put in the squeeze page product’s–> auto responder –> List Page: ?? All I can find are widgets & plugins, & I pull out the embedded info its a link not an email.

~2nd question is: can I have it goto a group in a list? They really push using groups so I followed their suggestion & now thinking I may have zipped up to early.

Thanks for your patience & help.

    Breathing Deeply,

You only need the list name. The list name is very easy to find… once, you log into your account and click on the lists tab it will present you with a list of all your mailchimp lists. Every list’s name is in bold so you can easily spot it.

“can I have it goto a group in a list?” – Nope, eStore integrates with a few different autoresponder services and the only thing that’s common in all of them are the list name. Using list name makes it so it can be used to capture the name of the list no matter which autoresponder service you are using.

If you understand PHP coding then you should be able to tweak the code yourself and do what you are after though.

    Thought I had it,

I can see my list names when I goto Mailchimp. Do I just put it in as “FreeDownload” because it uses the main Auto Responder settings to sign me in or do I have to have a fancy long email address ie.. “oaxxx378919@mailchimp.com”

I also have the squeeze page pointing to ,y “FreeDownload” list & the auto repsonder to “MP3 Purchase” for purchases in the main settings. Could this be a problem?

    Sorry to be thick.

    Thanks for the help.

The email address and list names are different. You just need the name of the list from your Mailchimp account and enter it in the eStore where it says “List Name”. This is the list the user will be signed up to when they download or purchase this product.

Did you specify all the MailChimp settings from the “settings menu” of eStore? Look under the “Autoresponder Settings” tab from the main eStore’s settings menu.

These are the settings for the mailchimp. When i test the squeeze it doesn’t send the email info anywhere on mailchimp but sends the download link. I have setup different lists for sales & squeeze. I have triple checked the user, pw, & cut/pasted the list name.

I have received your email and will go over your site to see what is missing.

When I took a look at your site it gave me a site temporarily down error (I tried it for two times). I will take a look at it again in a few hours time.

odd cause my uptime monitor shows it working. I have seen it before where you can’t get to the backend (down for upgrades) but the public page serves fine. Maybe you hit that time.

I have checked it and its working now. Would love to get it working before this weekend as my workshop will be driving traffic to the site. Thanks

I don’t think this is documented anywhere… so I’m adding it here. I have ESTORE 6.9.8.2

You CAN use the eStore with Mailchimp to add users to specific GROUPS of a mailchimp list.

What you put in the AutoResponder List name is:

    “List Name|GROUP Name|Group Member”

So if you have a list named “StarCircleAcademy” with a group called “Purchased Products” and a group element called “Advanced Stacker” it would look like this:

    StarCircleAcademy|Purchased Products|Advanced Stacker

    Super great feature, thanks!

NOTE: There is a subtle problem with the MailChimp Group Syntax that you might want to consider – it’s not a problem with the EStore integration.

The problem is that the default Mailchimp separator when using groups is the “:” (colon). So if you group has a colon in it, then you may not be able to do mailmerge / conditional lines.

I tried to use something like this, for example:

*|INTERESTED:Freebies:NOTES: Star Trails|* Thanks for downloading the notes on creating star trails *|END:INTERESTED|*

Because my group is named “NOTES: Star Trails” but that doesn’t work with MailChimp so I dropped the “:” and it’s all better now.
