Hi,

Tried to upload an .epub file and got this error message…

Any idea why?

Let me rephrase the question: How are you trying to “upload” the file?

Add Product > Digital Content Details (Click to Expand) > Upload File > 1%, 2%, 3%….99%, 100%, “crunching…” > “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.”

Both the button and that message are coming from WordPress.

When you use WordPress to upload to the media library, you are limited to the permitted file types.

You should create, and manually upload product files to a separate directory for your products. The suggested method is FTP in the binary transfer mode.
