I have a few items for sale on various pages using the same template. I have the shopping cart in my sidebar. I have noticed that when I test the cart and attempt to buy a number of items on different pages, the cart says it’s empty although I have added items from other pages. If I attempt to add another item then it will display the previous items but when I go to another page it will again say the cart is empty.
This is obviously confusing for people wanting to fill up their cart from various pages and wanting to see ALL the items.
Is there a fix for this? This plugin is very good but this is a real problem for me.
Thanks for any help.
Hi, This sounds like it maybe a PHP session problem. When the PHP session is not configured properly or turned off it will not store the values of the shopping cart. To fix this you need to contact your hosting provider and have them check that the PHP session is turned on and configured properly. Please let me know if this does not fix your problem.
Can you please send a link to the site where this issue is occurring?
Cheers,
Thanks for this Ivy. I think the problem might be with WP Cache as I was also having problems with password protected pages that weren’t working. I have now deleted WP Cache and it seems to have solved the password problem and also the shopping cart problem. I will carry on testing it and see what happens. I will also check with my host that the PHP session is turned on and working properly as you suggest.
Thanks for your help.
I am glad you got this working. If everything is working fine then the PHP session should be functioning properly and there is no need to contact your hosting provider. Let me know if you need anything else.
Cheers,
Ivy
