Hey Amin,
I’d like to sell WordPress plugins from my site and I’d like to be able to use the list of licensed email addresses as teh list to have my people to be able to enter it in by my customer when they activate a wordpress plugin and it will chat with my site and then either validate the plugin against the list of customers in wp store or not.
What do you think?

Hi Frank, Yeah that will work except there is one flaw. Say for example I purchased your plugin so my email address is in your database. Now, I can give out the plugin to anyone together with my email address and they will be able to use it.
To avoid this you need to have a system that keeps track of activation. So if an email address or “serial key” has been used once then it can’t be used anymore Or if you are selling a 3 site license then it can be used on 3 sites only.
I have developed a system that takes care of all these and am using it for one of my plugins at the moment. This is how it works:
– When someone purchase this product eStore knows that this product needs a license key so it talks to my license manager plugin and creates a license key.
– The customer get the product with a key in the email.
– The customer can activate this product on his/her site using the serial key
– At activation time the product communicates with the license server to validate the key
– The license manager keeps track of how many times a key is used and on what sites and stuff like that.
I am going to but I still need to complete the documentation and stuff so it’s still a few weeks away from release. I will send you an email if you want to test it out.

I have been using the alpha copy of the license manager a for a while now with one of my products and it seem to be working pretty good. There are a few extra things that I want to add to this plugin then I will be able to sell it.
Hey Amin, I’m in desperate need of the ability to license software that I create with ubot studio. With ubot, I’m able to communicate with a web page and run it in a automated fashion. You did give me an alpha of the plugin over the summer, but I’ve not been able to figure out how to work it properly. I would be eternally grateful if I could get your help in this. I know that you are away to mid Feb, but I’m in desperate need. I’ve got two products sitting on the shelf just waiting for release.
