MemberI just sent out my new website to a large newsletter group. I am using WP eStore and PDF Stamper, integrating with MailChimp (MC).
I’m getting customers to opt in with MC, then using MC to auto send a link to a download page where I am using the [wp_eStore_free_download:product_id:1:end] tool. It captures name and email and then stamps it.
So far 50 successful downloads, but I woke up today to find 40 messages from my WP site saying this:
A host, 75.148.88.190, has been locked out of the WordPress site at http://new-you-retreat.com until Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012 at 11:53:55 pm UTC due to too many attempts to open a file that does not exist. You may login to the site to manually release the lock if necessary.
all 40 messages have the same IP address as above.
the website is still up and functioning fine, as is MC, the eBook optin and the PDF stamper.
In WP Estore I have increased maximum downloads from 1 to 3, as I thought it may be customers repeatedly trying to download the link after its previously single download life had expired.
Any other thoughts or explanations?
thanks
Tim

KeymasterWho sent you this site lockout notification? MailChimp or your hosting provider?

MemberThis message was sent by WP, not MC. I am still getting these messages, about 10-20 per day. Any idea what might be causing them?
Could it be to do with the encrypted eBook download link being repeatly clicked after the number of downloads has expired?

KeymasterNope, these messages are definitely not sent out by any of our plugins. We don’t have any message in the plugin that is remotely similar to what you are receiving.
This test might help you identify the source (I understand that this is not really a conflict but the same concept can be used in this scenario):
