Tagged: customer input, Simple Shopping Cart
I recently installed the Customer Input addon, which seems to be working fine at the order level.
We are going to be selling video greetings for various occasions and need to capture the recipient’s name, email address and requested delivery date for each greeting to be sent. We’d like to be able let the customer order a birthday greeting (or multiple ones for different people) and other types of greetings, on one order. But the customer input information needs to be attached to each greeting item selected, not the entire order.
It’s not real user friendly to require them to place separate orders for each item just so we can capture the information for each item. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks.
The customer input is for the whole checkout. You can add extra fields there to ask customers additional data if they have additional items in the cart.
Do you get many customers doing multiple items checkout in one go? I feel like the greeting is something that someone will buy for one user at a time so you maybe able to get away with just having your current setup the way you have it. Check your orders data to see if you actually get a lot of users doing it. Then you can make a decision based on real data.
