Simple I am sure … but I don't get it LOL

All I want to know is when I set up a button (say either a buy it now or a subscription) and they click through to paypal and pay, how do I get it to auto update that member to either a paid or silver or gold or whatever level?

I know it is probably so simple that I will be embarrassed, but hey asking is better than sitting here looking blankly at a screen. Especially when I know there are so many wonderfully bright individuals out there who can easily set me on the right path (and no I am not being sarcastic). So please, if you could answer this question or just give me a link to a place that does. I have used the search feature, I have browsed the forums under FAQ and General Questions and Toubleshooting and I have found nothing that simply explains how this is done (of course knowing me I just failed to look in the right place) but at lease you can rest assured that I have at least tried before posting. Anyway thank you for your help.

I am guessing you are talking about creating a membership payment button for the eMember plugin. If this is the case then the following link will explain how you can integrate an eStore button (buy now, subscription) with eMember:
