I’ve noticed if I use the simple cart sidebar and a customer clicks single product button more then once, it only shows one item in the sidebar count. It seems to only count unique products as if they add a different item it does go to two. The main shopping cart page does update on multiple clicks. We will often have clients who will want more then one of an item and since I don’t see how to put a quantity field right on the page, the simple sidebar updating correctly would be a great thing. Any thoughts?
Tks,
Tony
July 7, 2011 at 6:45 am #34026amin007ParticipantWhat are you referring to when you say “simple cart sidebar”? Maybe post a URL to the page in question so we can see this?
July 8, 2011 at 3:42 am #34027tiatridisMemberYes I am. This site is as I mentioned in my other post is under development and its is parked at http://www.underweardog.com. At present the menu Anti Aging Skin Care is functional. When you press the add to cart button a second time on any given product it doesn’t add another item in the simple cart sidebar. In other words if you click the same button 3 times it only counts once there, thought it does update in the main cart. I’ve set the site to go to the shopping cart after each button click for now for this reason, obviously if the simple cart sidebar only counts unique items I can’t use it. However, I think I must be seeing a glitch of some sort. I am using the sandbox test mode within Paypal but I doubt that makes a difference to the sidebar functionality which is prior to checkout.
Thanks,
Tony

http://www.underweardog.com/?page_id=101
What am I really looking for?
July 9, 2011 at 12:26 am #34029tiatridisMemberHi,
Yes it does update on the checkout page but…I was hoping to not have to redirect to the checkout page every time an item is clicked. If you look at the number of items in the simple sidebar cart on the product pages after multiples of the same item are added the simple cart adds only one item for each individual product that is added more then once by press add to cart. Follow me?

Tony

In your case when you are adding two quantities of the same item it is still the same item just different quantities. The full details can be seen from the shopping cart. This can be changed if you want to show the total number of item quantities in the compact cart.
July 10, 2011 at 4:59 pm #34031tiatridisMemberOk, so how do you change it then so it show the total quantity in the simple cart, not just the unique items?

July 10, 2011 at 5:12 pm #34032tiatridisMemberBy the way, on another topic but maybe easier for you to just type it here. The redemption limit of the coupons? That seems to be the total number of times a coupon can be used. I need to set a coupon that can be used one time only by each user, can the system accomplish this? A new user discount as a reward for registering.
July 11, 2011 at 1:41 am #34033amin007ParticipantI have updated eStore to just show the total quantity in the compact cart rather than unique items. You can get a new build of eStore from here:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/update-request
Regarding the “one coupon per customer”… WP eStore has no way of guaranteeing or identifying that a user has already used a coupon or not. When a visitor adds items to the cart he/she is just an anonymous user. eStore only puts a label to that customer after a payment is made and it can get the user details from the payment gateway. Even if you added a check to ask for their email address before they can add items or apply coupon the customer can easily use a different/fake email address to pose as a different customer and use the coupon (you can’t prevent that).
July 12, 2011 at 2:04 am #34034tiatridisMemberHi,
Thanks for the follow up. Thanks for updating the simple cart solution as well, I’ll download the update shortly. It occurs to me by the way the way around giving him his ‘new user discount’ is to have the coupon code become available during the registration process, change it once a week or so, and have the coupon expire within a week or so each time. So the new user discount is available for a limited amount of time rather just the once. And yes, people will absolutely re-register and get around that, he already has the happening on another site.
But now as always seems to happen, the client has made a request I can’t honor in that now he wants to use the Pay Pal Pro interface which doesn’t leave the website during checkout. I see from your forums you are going to implement this eventually, is there a time frame on that? If it’s soon I’ll talk him into waiting on that. If not I’ll have to use another solution for him. I’m sure I’ll use your excellent product on another site though soon enough wither way.
Thanks again for your prompt attention.

July 13, 2011 at 12:51 am #34035tiatridisMemberHey following up with something else as well, I see theres a new plug in WP payment Gateway which allows for using Paypal Pro available to users who have purchased the Estore plug in already. My client has decided if he can’t check out right on the website that we need to use a different cart solution. I very much want to stay with Estore. How can I buy a copy of the additional plug-in?
