Hi guys,
I have a customer – the one I already wrote about in my other post
They want different areas/posts/download-documents in their blog with content that is available for registered guests, and content that is only available for their real customers. However, they don’t want those customers to pay, they should only be “known”, i.e. confirmed.
Is there any way for those known customers to register on their own as silver members (or higher) without the paypal/estore plugin? There is no need to separate between silver, gold or platinum members, but my customers would like to control who gets one of these higher-than-guest accounts, e.g. in the form of unlocking/accepting the registration.
If that is not possible, would my customer need to set up all those customer-accounts on his own? It might be possible to set up and use one single account for all customers, but personal accounts seem more preferred to me.
I guess I could also create personal accounts using the MySQL, but SQL-interface of the database, but that would mean that the customers get a fixed username.
Thanks again for your answers and best regards,
Martin
Why don’t you call your free membership level “Silver Membership”? If the idea is to give the content for free then the name of the membership level doesn’t matter.
One option is that the visitors can sign up as a basic member (e.g Silver) and then the admin can update their membership level depending on whatever condition later.
