I have a free membership and a paid membership (supporter). The free is forever and the paid is yearly. Am also using the ‘fancy’ login widget. Would like it to show ‘supporter’ on the fancy widget when they have upgraded from free to supporter and then go away after thier paid membership expires.
Looks to me like it only shows the 1st membership they registered for?
If this is not possible, can you tell me how I can remove the ‘Your Membership Level Is:’ section so they are not confused and can find out what they have by looking at the purchase history.
The widget will display whatever their current membership level is. So for a member who has upgraded to the “Supporter” level it will show “Your Membership Level Is: Supporter”
Isn’t that what you want?
That is not what is happening though. I imported all of my users from another membership system (way less attractive). Gave everyone the standard free membership and then added the Supporter membership to the accounts that had paid before. When those supporters log in now it shows Free unless I go in to their account and make ‘Supporter’ their primary membership.
So if their membership level is set to ‘Free’ but ‘Supporter’ is added on to that account it shows up as ‘FREE’ on the widget.
Will it be different if they are FREE and then purchase the upgrade as opposed to me adding it manually?
Ah so you are using the multiple membership per user option? When you have multiple memberships assigned to a user then the plugin only shows the primary membership status in there (there is only slot for the primary membership). To me it looks like you don’t need multiple membership per user option. If you uncheck this option then it will automatically upgrade the current level rather than adding a new level to the member’s profile.
Interesting… And then it will automatically downgrade to the free level after the upgrade expires?
