Show Discount in Customer Receipt

I know that the original price can’t be shown in the customer email receipt (it just shows the amount charged after the discount), but is there a way to show the total discount the customer received?

I see there is an email tag to show the discount coupon used, but I’d like to be able to show customers how much they saved when sending them their receipt.

We don’t have an option for this at the moment. I will think of a way to add an option for this.
