I just installed eStore and wanted to test the system with sandbox. Created 2 accounts in sandbox entered the fake email into the settings. When I add item to cart I was getting shopping cart empty. Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I am having the same problem. Products & buttons display fine, and cart shows up in the sidebar via widget. But when I click add to cart, nothing happens. Thanks-

Can you please post a link to the page so I can see the behavior?

This type of issue is usually related to PHP session not working on your site. A quick way to find this out is to add a product to the cart then browse to different pages of your site. If the session isn’t working then the Cart will get emptied out as you browse to other pages since the value gets lost.

If this is the case then your hosting provider should be able to fix your PHP session issue… it’s usually a matter of adding a line to your PHP.ini file on your server.

Thanks for the help. I tried what you said and went to another page and back to the product page. The item was not in the shopping cart anymore. So, what do I need to tell my host provider to add.

Called my hosting provider and they said that they could not help me. They said that I need to talk with PayPal. I asked if I get the code would they install it for me and they said no. I am not sure what to do now. I may have just bought a program that I can not use. Just let me know if you can help. Other wise I will have to look for another program. Thanks for your help though I have no clue about this stuff so it makes it hard.

@mariel, your issue seems to be related to using some sort of caching mechanism…. Are you using any Caching plugin (eg. WP Super Cache)? If you are then you may want to checkout this page:

rflush, if PHP session doesn’t work on your server then pretty much none of the wordpress shopping cart plugin will work on your site as they all uses the PHP session variable.

with that said, I am sure your hosting provider will address the issue if you explain to them properly. (I can’t think of any hosting provider that would sell you hosting with PHP where PHP session doesn’t work! They would have to be a really crappy hosting provider to do that).

Just ask them if they can make sure that the PHP Session is working (this has got nothing to do with PayPal or anything else).

Thanks amin007 I called again and asked if the php session was working. He said that the save path was not setup properly and reset it on the backend. Was that something I did or was it them when setup my account? He would give me an answer. But it is working now thanks you and will recommend our software to others.

    Thanks Sooooooooooo much

Can you tell me which php library eStore uses so hosting can figure out if it’s supported. Thanks

It doesn’t require any special PHP library (the problem is somewhere else).

I just double checked your site to make sure that the shopping cart widget you added is from the WP eStore plugin and not the Simple shopping cart plugin (a lot of people make this mistake). Looks like the cart is appearing fine now… so I take it you figured out the problem. What was it?

I moved my hosting off Windows to Linux…think that did it. Thanks for being so responsive and for your help.

    Hi amin!

I have this same problem as well, but it’s a tad more odd than others.

It used to work fine (and works fine on localhost), but suddenly it stopped passing the session values through paypal.

Try it out here : http://test.wanderlustandco.com/shop/oh-deer-green-ring/

It’s totally fine when you’re browsing around the site though, and I don’t have any caching turned on.

Would this still 100% be a problem that hosting can fix?
