Several basic problems getting galleries / albums to work

Hi,

I am having trouble creating anything that I can see on the website!!! I have created a few galleries and I can’t see any new pages being generated. I have tried to create an Album and I can’t get an image to load as the main album image….thus I am thinking that it hasn’t created an album page!

I suspect that if I can get it going with some pages working, I will see how it all relates, but at the moment, I have no idea.

I have a page called “Print Galleries” and the shortcode in there is [WPS_photo_gallery_home] but nothing shows at all. The plugin appears to create another page called “Photo Gallery” with the same shortcode – that doesn’t appear either!

This process where it generates its own pages is not very helpful!!

Your page of shortcodes appears to be for all your plugins and so I so I don’t know which ones are for photo-seller and which ones are not. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I know, all this is very basic, but I don’t see the logic in how it works.

I have moved a few things around now and if you look at some of the pages in the Fine Art Print pulldown, you will see that the shortcodes are not working. So that’s my main problem. I am more than happy to ditch the album page, which I can not get to work, and do it with a menu.

A follow-up. Now, without any further action, all appears to be working! It must have been some sort of caching issue perhaps?! Anyway, no need for any further attention.

Sorry, I do have a problem that I need to ask about.

I have created a number of galleries that work ok and then one that fails. The latter – I can add the shortcode to a page but no appearance. When I look at the gallery edit page and click on the preview button it returns the url:

“http://www.auswildlife.com/photogallery__trashed-3/gallery6/”

Where is it picking that up from? Can I turn this process off, where it tries to generate its own page?? Then I could just use the shortcode.

Also, the gallery home page does not work – shot code does not create any content.

Looks like you deleted that page and it is in the trash. Restore that gallery page from the trash (or delete that page from trash if you don’t need it any more).

Ok, thanks. I have tracked down the trashed pages and deleted them.

I still can’t get one gallery to work. All looks ok with the config. Is it possible that large images will take some time to process and so the gallery won’t appear for a while? It’s all I can think of.

The gallery homepage looks fine to me. Maybe you are seeing a cached version of the page? Did you try emptying the cache?

Yes, it all looks ok now. I did empty the cache but I have ultra slow speeds here at the moment, so that might be a contributing factor. Thanks for checking it out. Hopefully I won’t have any further questions!!
