I have an earlier request in that no shortcode icons show up on the editor page when I’m setting up products.
The other problem that I am having is that when I am setting up the page and do put in a buy button and a cart button shortcode manually(they work), only these buttons show up — there is no product description and no product icon. I can go through the process and buy the product (although as a user I wouldn’t know what it is)…..so that part works.

A: I have a feeling your theme or another plugin might be causing a conflict.
Can you please try the following tests to determine whether this is the case:

A: This is the way the “buy now” or “add to cart” shortcodes are meant to work – ie, they will only display a button. It is up to you to enter some description/pricing info before and/or after the button.
There are other (fancy) shortcodes you can use which will display the product info and price together with the buy now/add to cart buttons. See this for more info:
