Is there a way to have the emails sent to ME (the seller) use the FROM: address of the seller?

The reason this is important is that everytime I make a sale, every single email comes in with the same address (mine). Which isn’t terribly useful when I am trying to locate the details of one particular sale.

First part (putting in the appropriate codes in the WP_eStore Settings) should be relatively simple. Well…. maybe not. Looking at the Email Settings tab, I do see WP eStore –> Settings –> Email Settings –> From Email Address. However, this appears to be used for both sending email to the buyer (which should come from me) as well as the email sent TO me (which should come from the buyer). Which means, this setting is NOT what I am looking for.

Ok, I know this is not a trivial question. The mail server my website is using will need to be willing to accept any address in the From: line (and not think it’s being an open relay). What’s more, the email server I am using (in my case, Gmail) would have to not reject it as spam because there isn’t an SPF record.

The from email address is not something you should be looking at to filter things. Use the subject of the email and then the content in the email body to find a transaction if you want to.

The buyer and seller email subject and body is fully customization. You can use various merge tags in the email body field to include useful details in the seller email body. The following documentation explains the available email merge tags:

If you want to change from email address for the seller email then that will likely introduce email delivery issue. We can still do it for you but it will need to be handled as a custom job.
