If I generate a download link from the admin panel for a product, copy the download URL into a new tab, the download window will open as intended.
The problem is that going back to the site tab, the website itself and the wp admin screen takes infinitely long to load and freezes afterwards. When you try to switch pages on the site (admin or main pages), all it shows is the loading icon.
I’ve disabled ALL caching plugins. I’ve disabled all unnecessary other plugins for the sake of testing. I’ve cleared my cache repeatedly. I’ve cleared cookies. I’ve also tried this on other browsers and the same thing occurs. I also moved my files externally to see if generating a link would make any difference. It doesn’t.
I’ve tried both fopen enabled and disabled. I’ve tried both hardcoding the file paths locally as well with the http prefix. I’ve tried even loading in my old database as well as overwriting the plugin. Reactivating it doesn’t work too.
Other people can see the site while I’m having this problem. I’ve tried the download link independent of the browser I’m generating it on. The same thing happens with the other browser where it locks you of the main site until you completely restart the browser.
I can’t figure out what’s going on here. The site is live – please help.
