I recently purchased your WP eMember and WP Affiliate products to set up my web site at http://Internetmentorship.com. I am very pleased with how easy they were to use and setup and I like that your licensing lets me use the software I purchased on additional sites I create for myself. I will certainly be recommending your products to my clients as well.
I have a new site I am setting up to sell software. I definitely want to use WP Affiliate for the new site, but I am not sure what else I might need.
The programmers have set it up so anyone can download and try the software for 30 days. After 30 days if they don’t enter the registration code, it will stop working. I originally thought of using WP eStore to protect the download link, but it actually doesn’t matter in this case as the software will stop working anyway.
Are there any of your products that can help with this where I can enter a list of allowed registration codes and have the next code from the list sent to the customer?
Thanks,
Garland
We don’t have any software for this unfortunately. We are working on a “License Management” plugin but it is not ready and won’t be for a while.
Any suggestions for a workaround I might be able to use? I just purchased WP eStore as well and it would be a lot easier if I could use WP eStore and WP Affiliate since they are programs I am learning rather than learning another.
It’s not just a matter of eStore generating a random registration key. If eStore generates a random serial key and send it to your customer will your software accept this key? Most likely not.
Most softwares that use a serial key usually have an algorithm to generate the key so that a script can generate a valid serial key. So the first think you need is a PHP script that will generate registration key in the way that your software will accept it. Once you have that part done you can do some custom tweak in eStore so that it can utilize this script to generate a key after the purchase and send to the customer.
