I’m setting up a sales website for a new product, using WP eStore.

I’m also setting up a main membership site as an “umbrella site” to provide additional content, support, etc. to purchasers from the sales site (and other sales site that will eventually offer more products).

Is it possible that when a sale is made at the “sales site” that Paypal can send IPN information to the “umbrella site” so WP eMember can add the buyer to the member list and assign a level?

I suspect it’s not possible, as my understanding of IPN is that it needs to check in with the originating site. Just wanted to make certain, I guess, before I spend the time on another workflow for purchasing.

    Thanks.

It is possible to send the IPN to a different domain but there will be a bit of work involved.

    1) First you will need to run eStore on both these sites with the same list of products with the same details so the IPN verification goes through fine.

    2) Then you can tweak the IPN sending URL of the eStore plugin on site A so it send the IPN to site B’s eStore plugin

So your Site A will be the front where as site B will do all the post payment stuff.

That would be perfect. I plan to run sStore an eMember on Site B anyway, to capture sales that originate on that site, but this will accommodate my desire to aggregate all the customer info in one place.

I’ll just need to take care to load the products in the same order with the same information in both place, which will be easy as we’re just starting out.

    Thanks!

BTW: I’m using the same license for eStore on two sites, just to get things set up. Do you offer a “deal” for the complete package (eMemer, eStore and Affiliate Platform) for current customers? No biggie if not, still a bargain foe the plugins – just askin’

WP eStore, WP eMember and WP Affiliate all have multi site license by default. So you can use them on all of the sites that you own and operate.
