Selling Gift Certificates – Update

Is it now possible to sell gift certificates?

If not is there a suggested work around?

I have searched the forum but unclear as to the answer.

I think, the closest approximation to selling gift certificates, is to sell a product bundle containing a blank certificate, and a separate serial number. The serial numbers would correspond to pre-generated coupon codes, with a usage count of 1.
