Hi,
Just wanted run you by something that has happened with a client who purchased a fews eBooks from us.
Sale was fine, download was fine, encryption I thought was all fine, All went well.
However the client whom we know contacted us some days later saying he could not open his eBooks on a Bahun Tablet using Android. I was a bit surprised. The error has was getting was:
“Decrypt document – enter password to open file”
So I could not work it out, so I tested 2 of our files on a test android we have here, sure enough they would not open.
I removed all Encryption and manually stamped 2 files and sent them to myself to check, all good no problems, they opened.
I manually stamped some more files and sent them to the client, minus all encryption. He said they all opened with no error
My settings with encryption:
File Path = Default
Stamping Method = Default
PDF File Security settings
Enable Encryption = checked
Allow Print = checked
Allow Copy = unchecked
Allow Modify = unchecked
File Password = nil
Email Password = unchecked
Owner Password = nil
I am a bit perplexed on what to do! We had some complaints in the past about not being able to open files, however I am not sure if they were Android users. We only really require that the eBook content can’t be cut and pasted some were on the net as per our authors requirements. No so much a password on files so they can be opened by end users.
My question is, has anybody had this issue before with Android, or is there something I am missing here on the setup tutorial.
Currently sending files out not encrypted.
Michael
On the Android, are you using the official Adobe PDF Reader app, or “something else?”
