Thanks guys for adding the enclosure to the feed. however is there a way that when the person’s account expires or when looking at the general mysite.com/feed that i can not show the enclosure. I do podcasting and i would love to use emember to do a plus paid feed. with podcasting our content is delevered via the enclosed mp3 and this will not work if every one has access to the mp3 file! thanks..
Andy

August 3, 2011 at 1:09 pm #35041xpunkxMemberamin007 check out my rss feed for my sandbox site http://sandbox.fourenginestudios.com/feed the very bottom post called test has a media enclosure for podcasting. the text content of the post is protected it shows Please Login to view this Content.(Not a member? Join Today!) however the enclosure is still showing hence if someone put http://sandbox.fourenginestudios.com/feed into itunes they would still get the mp3 downloaded..
Thanks for checking into this
August 4, 2011 at 2:27 am #35042amin007ParticipantThank you for the example… I am clear on the issue now. I will look in the code and see what we can do. I will get back to you.
August 4, 2011 at 7:04 am #35043amin007ParticipantOkay added another check in eMember so it does not show the encloser in the feed for protected posts. Please get a new build of the plugin from here and check it out:
August 4, 2011 at 2:05 pm #35044xpunkxMemberamin. now it does hide the enclosure when not logged in but i cant seem to get it to show when i am logged in as a valid user either so it is always hiding it.
August 5, 2011 at 12:46 am #35045amin007ParticipantBrowsers have a tendency to cache the feed so you might need to refresh the feed after you log in. Are you using the secure RSS feed URL for the member to see the feed? Please create a test user account on your site (a member that should have access to this feed) and share it here so I can log in as a user and check it out.
August 5, 2011 at 3:51 am #35046xpunkxMemberamin007 i have created a user for you. user is amin007 and the password is checkitout. I dont think it is a problem with the browser caching because i can see the content of the post when i am logged in via rss but just the enclosure isnt showing
thanks

August 6, 2011 at 12:18 am #35047amin007ParticipantThanks… we did some more tweaking. Can you please get another build from here and let me know after you update your site so I can test it out:
August 8, 2011 at 11:55 am #35048xpunkxMemberamin007. I updated and as far as i can tell it is working! thanks again for all your hard work. your username should still work if you want to log in and check
August 9, 2011 at 12:12 am #35049amin007ParticipantGlad to hear that. You can delete the test account that you created for me.
August 9, 2011 at 2:19 am #35050xpunkxMemberThe only issue that i found was that if i protected say a category and didnt specifically choose in the post to protect it. it will protect the post because it is in a protected category but it will not protect the enclosure.
my work around is to just make sure the post its self is tagged as protected.. but dont know if we can get this added so that if the category is protected but not the individual post it will protect the enclosure too.. Thanks Andy
August 9, 2011 at 2:50 am #35051xpunkxMemberHey thanks again for all your hard work on this
August 9, 2011 at 3:19 am #35052amin007ParticipantThe encloser protection only works if the individual post is protected at the moment. We will extend it for category protection later.
August 9, 2011 at 2:40 pm #35053xpunkxMemberamin. thats cool not a problem. thanks again for all your hard work on the plugins. you have awesome customer service and i would buy more from you because you actually listen to your customers. thanks for doing a great job
