Hello,
I have only 1 product in my store. It costs US $ 7.95 to ship the first item, and additional items ship free. So, if 2 items are ordered, the shopping cart should charge $ 7.95
The problem.
NO problem with Paypal. I set 7.95 inside my Paypal account and that’s it. However, with Authorize.net, where the shipping price has to be set inside WPStore, any product will ship for free, since there’s no way to set the shipping cost from inside my Authorize.net account.
This is what I tried:
I tried setting a 0 value in the product setup (Item Shipping Cost), and 7.95 in the Base Shipping Cost, and setting the value to 0 in Paypal. This way, the shipping charges will be set inside WPStore. But then it does not calculate shipping charges, so I guess the Shipping variations will only work if I set a value of $ 0.10 at least in the Item Shipping cost, is that right?
I need your help on this as soon as possible, I browsed the forum but could not find a similar case.
Thanks in advance.
Daniel
July 18, 2012 at 1:11 am #47438adminKeymasterYour setup is almost correct. Instead of using a “0” amount in the item specific product shipping area, use a value of “0.01”. This way it will trigger the shipping in the cart and apply the 7.95 base shipping cost. Try that and let me now how you go.
July 18, 2012 at 1:09 pm #47439danielsamiMemberHello admin,
Thank you for your response.
Yes, I did the 0.01 trick and it works, however, it adds 0.01 to the shipping charges and when 2 products are ordered, the shipping charges amount to 7.96, which could be confusing for some people wary of online purchasing. We target middle age to elderly citizens, who for the most part are reluctant to online purchasing. Sometimes this little difference of 1 cent, what it means to them is that the system is not working properly and what other surprises may lay ahead
Thanks anyway, we’ll make it work and state somewhere on the page that the second product ships for 1 cent
One more question: My client is asking me to place, instead of Payment Method:(paypal and authorize.net boxes below) the words: “Two Secure Payment Options for you to choose from”.
Is there a way to do it without messing with the php?
Thanks again,
Daniel
July 18, 2012 at 11:19 pm #47440adminKeymasterThe payment gateway choices when using multiple options have to be drop down unfortunately.
July 19, 2012 at 3:34 am #47441danielsamiMemberHi,
Yes, no problem with the drop down.
What I want is to include the sentence “Two Secure Payment Options for you to choose from”
before the drop down, ideally instead de “Payment Method”.

Please let me know if it’s possible and how.
Thanks a lot.

July 20, 2012 at 5:49 pm #47443danielsamiMemberThanks, I had forgotten about his topic to customize text messages. I already changed the text and it worked perfectly. Also took note of the change in my changelog for future updates.
Thanks again.
