I have created the process to download a video file from Screencast.com. Everything works fine until I click on encrypted link to access the video and instead of downloading a 171mb video I get a 69kb ‘document’ which won’t even open in a text editor !
Confused, any ideas ?

I have noted that the download ‘document’ is actually the link for the file, i.e. Jsqlof3nMFKi but this isn’t even a txt or word doc.
The file is an mp4 video file and can be downloaded easily manually. Thought this would be quicker and easier but
If this cannot be resolved I want a refund asap
September 29, 2014 at 1:26 pm #65719wzpModeratorSome notes for you
By hosting the file externally; you are DOUBLING the bandwidth usage of your server. The only external hosting that really works, without increasing your server’s bandwith usage, or causing “other problems,” is eStore’s Amazon S3 integration:
The first year of Amazon S3 is free, and users report an average monthly cost of less than 15 cents.
However, if you still want to try using another form of external hosting; please review this:

September 29, 2014 at 10:56 pm #65720adminKeymasterThe [http://www.screencast.com/t/Jsqlof3nMFKi] URL is not the actual URL of that video file. That is the URL of the page where the video is embedded. That is why it downloads that HTML page which is 69kb. You need to link to the actual video file. I am not sure if screencast.com lets you host videos so you can offer download from your site.
If you are going to host your video files outside your site then the best place is Amazon S3.
