MemberHi,
I recently installed eStore and added two products. To test, I tried to purchase one item and when I select Pay with Paypal, a white window appears over the page with an ‘x’ in the top right.
Nothing ever appears in the window – waited 20min to be sure – and if I click the ‘x’, I’m back at the page with the shopping cart summary.
ideas, anyone?

ParticipantPlease uncheck the “Enable Fancy Redirection On Checkout” field from the settings menu then clear your browser cookies and test it out.

MemberYes, without the Fancy Redirection, it takes me to PayPal and accepts my payment.
Does this have something to do with the problem I’m having uploading thumbnails for the products?
Also, it doesn’t take me to the Thank You page, and the email I receive is a standard receipt from PayPal, not one containing a link to the Digital Media product purchased
I appreciate your help!

Participant“It doesn’t take me to the thank you page” – Have you followed the video on this page to set this up?

“Buyer doesn’t receive links for the purchase” – Please run a test transaction with debug option enabled and it will reveal the issue. This post will guide you:

MemberThe thank you page problem was related to the PayPal email address I was using to receive payment. I was using the address which receives payment from customers of an afiliate company and i think it has some Merchant Account information that wasn’t compatible with what I’m trying to do here. I set up a fresh email address specifically for this project and now it works as expected; for the Thank You page, that is.
Still not getting the product link. I followed your instructions on debug and got blank files. Following the instructions about blank log files, it appears that i have some rights issues. manually running paypal.php, I get the following errors:
Debug is enabled. Check the ipn_handle_debug.log file for debug output.

WP is running under Plesk on Windows 2003. Creating my website, I did not use anything out of the ordinary, except that this site is a subdomain. I have set up several subdomains in this domain withtout issue. Can you help me understand what needs to have permission to write to what?
I expect that this is at the heart of my troubles which include installing/updating themes and adding thumbnails (you’ve been helping me there in another thread).
This is my first time using WP as well as plug-ins, so I may have missed some support configuration of my host; though I have little idea exactly what is wrong.
Thanks!

ParticipantThis is just my advice to you as an experienced web developer… you should never use a Windows server. Windows is mainly good for personal computer. Any serious web server will always use Linux/Unix (you can do you own research on Google).
Anyway, on to the issue. Basically your server have some permission issues so a PHP script is not being able to write to the log file. Please change the permission of the following log files to 777 then follow the empty debug file checklist post again:
– ipn_handle_debug.log
– eStore_post_payment_debug.log
– subscription_handle_debug.log
– squeeze_form_debug.log
