Sale Notification Emails with Custom Subject Lines?

I’d like to format the email subject lines like this:

Thank you for purchasing {product_name}

Is this possible? I tried it just like above and it doesn’t work, but the body of the email accepts the codes just fine.

You can’t use this tag in the subject as it only works in the email body.

I thought I’d piggy back off this post, being that I’ve encountered a similar issue.

Are you saying the tags [{first_name}, etc] don’t work in the subject lines?

Is there anyway possible to address the member by their first name in the subject line?

If so, please let me know.

Correct; email tags are for the email body, only.
