I am using S2Member and following these instructions: https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/integrating-s2member-plugin-with-the-wp-affiliate-software-368
The initial signup works but I am struggling to figure out if the recurring payments work. My site works off yearly payments so testing my actual plans would not work. I tried doing a manual charge through Stripe and that was not tracked, which is fine, but then not sure how else to test if the next payment by the customer will get recorded to the affiliate.
Step 3 in the directions are a little confusing to me. I am selling access to specific pages so I definitely need to do this. I assume that where it says “copy the URL from step 3” it actually means step 2, correct?
If correct, where exactly do I paste that URL? The directions say all the relevant fields, but I guess I am unsure what is relevant. Is it in all the different things I want to make sure to track? So if I want to track refunds, I place that URL in the “refund/reversal notifications”?
If I want to track recurring payments, is there something separate I need to do?
Thanks
May 16, 2018 at 12:03 am #77844adminKeymasterYes, it works for recurring payments also. Lets make sure the affiliate plugin is receiving the notification from s2members after a transaction. Please enable the debug option in the settings menu of the plugin then do a test transaction. Now, we can check the log file in the affiliate plugin to see if the transaction notification is being sent to the affiliate plugin.
Does the one time transactions work fine? Are you only using Stripe or a combination of Stripe and PayPal?
Step 3 is only needed if you are selling access to Specific Posts/Pages via S2member. If you aren’t then its not needed. Thank you for pointing out the mistake where it says “copy the URL from step 3”. I have corrected it.
May 16, 2018 at 12:24 pm #77845corey34SpectatorYes, it appears that the affiliate plugin is receiving the notification. I can see the commission earned is correct for my test affiliate. And the debug log has all successes.
Yes, the one-time payment works right. I am using just Stripe.
It appears things are working but I’m just not sure how to test to make sure the recurring payment works.
Do recurring payments work by default? I’m not seeing anywhere that I need to edit settings to turn this one.
Thanks
May 17, 2018 at 12:16 am #77846adminKeymasterThe connections all look to be working fine so it should just work. Yes, recurring payments work by default (nothing needs to be turned on). Wait for a recurring payment to come in and if you see an issue just let us know.
