Hi and many thanks for a terrific piece of software and very helpful forum.
When my customers make a purchase I would like PayPal to send them to the thank you page I have created with a download link. I have been following the instructions here: http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/wp-estore-instant-digital-product-delivery-499
Under ‘My Selling Tools’ at Paypal I have set the return url to the thank you page on my website, but it’s throwing up a ‘404 page not found’ error. PayPal say the return url code needs to be programmed into a button. So I just want to check. To enable this feature do I need to be creating the buttons I use myself at PayPal rather than using wp-estore buttons?
Thank you
August 11, 2013 at 11:12 pm #57065adminKeymasterHi, You can set the return URL (Thank you page) in eStore plugin’s settings. Please enter the return URL in the following field:
WP eStore Settings -> Return URL
Let me know how you go after that.

August 12, 2013 at 4:52 pm #57067vickihollettMemberAfter completing an order, a PayPal screen appears saying customers will be directed back to the site within 15 seconds. The url it tries to access is
[http://store.simpleenglishvideos.com/thank-you/%20%E2%80%8E?tx=8PF02289H6445872C&st=Completed&amt=0%2e01&cc=USD&cm=ip%3d68%2e32%2e2%2e151&item_number=]
It throws up a 404 error. However, the first part of the url (up to thank you) is correct.
I also get a 404 error when I set the address at PayPal and within wp-estore to
[www.store.simpleenglishvideos/thank-you/]
I contacted PayPal thinking it must be an error there. However, they seem to think the problem is the button I am using. So I am wondering whether I need to be using PayPal’s tools to create a shopping cart button. Any help you can give will be much appreciated.
August 12, 2013 at 11:11 pm #57068adminKeymasterThank you for the details. You have an empty space at the end of the thank you page URL that you specified in the settings (most likely a copy and paste error). Please edit the settings and remove any trailing space from the thank you page URL. Save it and then try again.
