Return to cart after continue shopping

If someone orders one of my products and then lands on the checkout page, then clicks on continue shopping but does not order anything else, how can they return to the checkout page? Must the checkout page be on a site’s navigation bar? Instead of that I want to put a shopping cart icon on the right side of my navigation bar, that when clicked would go to checkout page. How to do that?

P.S. I’m using a standalone checkout page without a sidebar.

Place the [wp_eStore_cart] shortcode on its own page, and have a link or button that links to it.
