I have just received my first purchase using your plugin, and retrieved the automatic email generated by the system. I have two questions regarding the formatting of the email:
1) The email contained the text configured when setting up the plugin, i.e., notification of the customer’s name and email, plus a copy or the body of the response page which I also set up. But at the bottom of the email, was a long (and I presume generated by PayPal®) string of text, sort of like this (relevant details have been modified):
Dear Seller
This mail is to notify you of a product sale. Product Name: Duatone™ Brass-Lined Set, Product ID: 16,
The sale was made to My Customer (mycustomer@hiswebsite.com)
User Email
Dear My Customer
Thank you for purchasing Duatone™ Brass-Lined Set, .
mc_gross=160.00&protection_eligibility=Eligible&address_status=confirmed&item_number1=16&payer_id=DSHF35JDJGHE6465&tax=0.00&address_street=405+Stans+Ave.&payment_date=22%3A42%3A12+Feb+06%2C+2010+PST&payment_status=Completed&charset=windows-1252&address_zip=55555&visa_shipping=10.00&visa_handling=0.00&first_name=MyCustomer&mc_fee=4.94&address_country_code=US&address_name=My+Customer¬ify_version=2.9&custom=&payer_status=unverified…
And lots more. Can I presume that this is normal, or should this information be formatted to be more intelligible? Maybe this is the IPN notification? Please confirm that this supposition is correct. I only ask because I cannot recall ever seeing this type of information before.
2.) As you can see in the example above on the first line after “Dear My Customer”, there is a comma, then a space, then a period. I assume that the space between the comma and the period is supposed to be populated by the customer’s name. So, have I forgotten to configure something on the backend, like a variable (for example {customer_name] )or something similar in the admin form mail? I don’t think that I actually altered that in any way, but perhaps I should have.
3.) I also received the typically human-readable confirmation email from PayPal® with all of the customer’s information.
Well, sort of a long-winded query, but I figure more information is better than not enough. Thanks again, as I am really quite pleased that this plugin is working so well and was so easy to set-up.
February 7, 2010 at 11:58 pm #17802IvyMemberHi, 1.) The information is from paypal (IPN) this information should be there and you do not need to do anything with the information from Paypal. Note: This information is not sent to the buyer.
2.) Do you see the follow “{first_name} {last_name}” in the email to your customer? These brackets need to be in the email for it to display this information correctly.
Please let me know how this goes.

February 8, 2010 at 2:33 am #17803reedmavenMemberThanks, Ivy. I checked my email form on the settings page, and it reads:
==========
Dear Seller
This mail is to notify you of a product sale. Product Name: {product_name} Product ID: {product_id}
The sale was made to {first_name} {last_name} ({payer_email})
==========
It appears to be configured correctly, so why do you suppose that the customer’s first and last name were omitted?
February 8, 2010 at 2:36 am #17804reedmavenMemberThe email to the customer is configured thus:
==========
Dear {first_name} {last_name}
Thank you for purchasing {product_name}.
==========
This also appears to be configured properly. Any ideas? Thanks.
February 8, 2010 at 3:22 am #17805IvyMemberThe (,) is there to septate the products when you have more then one product purchased. The(.) Is there to end the sentence. You will notice this also happens with the ID Number.
Cheers,
Ivy
