We had a payment go through without a name, and only an email address. Apparently if someone is using a gift card a name isn’t required by Stripe. Is there a way within the plugin to make this a requirement?

2. By any chance, are the debug logs turned on?
3. Did the purchase successfully go through?
4. Is NOT having the purchaser’s name information adversely affecting this sale? For example; they purchased an engraved item.

April 13, 2023 at 5:59 pm #84876adminKeymasterIs this gift card that you issued from Stripe? Or are you referring to our Gift certificate addon? If it was issued from Stripe directly then the checkout’s minimum requirement (if any) will also need to be set in the Stripe account (not the plugin).
April 18, 2023 at 3:36 pm #84877BCVSupportSpectatorSorry I never received notification that there were responses.
They are donations, so no product at all. Yes we want the name information. Yes they were successful. No I didn’t have debug on. I’ve currently got Stripe off, until I can get the system changed.
They appear to be fraudulent; not sure why they are doing the charges, but they appear to be fake on further review of the payments. I’m in the process of finding out how to make edits on the Stripe end so the information is required.
When I contacted Stripe initially for support they confirmed no name is required and that they could be using Visa/MC gift cards. I understand that some places would be fine with this, however we don’t want these type of charges.

This is a common step, criminals use to validate stolen cards. If the charge goes through, then they hit Amazon or Best Buy, et al, with a large charge. There is no point in you trying to get a name on this kind of transaction; as it would most likely be fake (anyways). Also, prepaid Visa/MC and Green Dot cards, do not have names. Even with legitimate transactions, they don’t validate names; I use an alias with my personal Visa/MC on certain sites, and have never been turned down. It’s all about the numbers.

April 19, 2023 at 10:36 am #84885BCVSupportSpectatorThat’s kind of what I thought. However the board wants the name whether it’s also fraudulent or not.
Thanks!
April 19, 2023 at 11:54 am #84886wzpModeratorAs per the advice of @admin, you must set the minimum checkout requirements in your Stripe account, not in the plugin. Please consult with Stripe, to see if they can provide you with the name on donations.
April 19, 2023 at 12:09 pm #84887BCVSupportSpectatorThanks, it’s not the amount, but I will continue this issue with Stripe. I just thought there might be a way to get the info from the cart plugin.
Again Thanks.
April 19, 2023 at 4:09 pm #84888wzpModerator“That’s the problem.” Donations don’t go through the cart.
