Hello,
I have both estore and emember
Currently I offer a free membership option without payment
The flow of the site looks like the following:
User arrives to site
User sees signup form requiring name + email and finishes registration process
User gets 7 days free trial
I would like to change the flow so that after the user signs up and registers, he needs to enter in his credit card information to actually complete the process and get access to his free trial.
I would like the user to first have to go thru signup offer and then only at the end trigger the paypal credit card details requirement (which will be free for first 7 days and then charge them)

The problem with this flow is that your require to put someone in their credit card details prior to them creating an account and conversions are much lower that way.
I am looking to give a 7 day free trial with credit card capture.
If I would be able to get their contact details first, have them create the account, and then redirect them to the paypal page, that would be the correct flow.
Is that flow possible or can it be made custom?
January 20, 2017 at 6:58 pm #74967wzpModeratorUsually, services require some kind of commitment in the form of a delayed payment; in exchange for receiving a free trial. If you offer a trial without any such commitment; what is to keep someone from simply signing up for another trial every 7 days, using a different email address?
If you’re willing to accept that risk, you could:
- Setup 2 membership products in eStore & eMember; the “free” membership and the “paid” membership. The free membership is only good for 7 days and the paid one is good for say, 30 days. You can set the content protections so that both membership levels have identical access, or so the free level only has a limited access.
- Ensure the following eMember settings are set:
a. Allow Expired Account login
b. Membership renewal Page
- Create the renewal page; offering them only the paid product.
Now, they can register for a 7 day membership, and at the end of 7 days they must “renew” using a paid membership.
January 20, 2017 at 11:34 pm #74968adminKeymasterHave you looked at the 2nd or the 3rd registration flow scenario from the following documentation? That offers the user to first create a account for a basic/free membership level. Then later they can pay for a paid membership.
