Suddenly my customers are getting
Requested File Could Not Be Found, nothing has changed on the server
March 3, 2010 at 1:42 am #18484whatevsMemberHi
I’m having the same problem. I can access the file directly from the real url, however the encrypted url isn’t working.
I’m using wpestore Version v2.2 with wordpress 2.9.2
The download link is at a http://subdomain.domain.com/file location, don’t know if that would create an issue?

I did upgrade this plugin a couple of weeks ago, but I have made a few sales since that upgrade with no complaints so I presume the links were working.
If I generate a link in admin settings. The link results in File not Found.

March 6, 2010 at 2:06 am #18488IvyMemberHi Jim,
I sent you an email regarding this. Everything should be fixed now. Some servers have issues with the files that we had you delete. Let me know if you need anything else.
Cheers,
Ivy
April 15, 2010 at 2:54 pm #18489aarondub84MemberI am having the same issue. I checked the url a few times before posting and it worked fine. But for some reason I am getting the same error message when someone purchases the file.
April 16, 2010 at 7:08 am #18490amin007ParticipantPlease provide the following info:
1) Are you using relative URL or full URL?
2) Can you please try it with removing the .htpasswd and .htaccess files from the “downloads” directory?
3) Do you have any space in the file name?
June 4, 2010 at 4:40 pm #18491Michael DeLucaParticipantOur site suddenly began having this issue sometime between last Saturday and now. My symptoms are a little different: the encrypted url produces “Requested File Not Found”, but when I try to navigate to the actual URL in my browser I get a 500 server error. I had been using full URLs, but I changed one product to a relative URL. When I did that, the encrypted URL for that generated a bunch of warnings:
Warning: set_time_limit() [function.set-time-limit]: Cannot set time limit in safe mode in /home/lcrwnet/public_html.weightlessbooks/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/download.php on line 126
And I still couldn’t download the file.
It sort of looks from this like the cause of this is that some element of the php configuration on our server has changed unbeknownst to me. Can any of you wiser heads confirm or deny that theory or offer a different one?
June 5, 2010 at 1:03 am #18492amin007ParticipantThe 500 server error is an internal server error that your hosting company can easily fix by looking at the server log.
You shouldn’t have to change things around just because your server is having some issues. Please chase your hosting company up and they should be able to fix the 500 error and everything should work.
June 5, 2010 at 12:58 pm #18493Michael DeLucaParticipantI chased them up right after I posted the above. They say they have not changed any settings since this problem occurred. I did, however, recently upgrade the plugin twice in quick succession, first using a version that Ivy emailed me, then another that you emailed me, both on May 31. Do you think it would help to revert to the version of the plugin I was using prior to that?
June 5, 2010 at 3:22 pm #18494Michael DeLucaParticipantAn update: our hosts turned off “Safe Mode”, which caused that error line warning about safe mode to go away, but the other warnings (the “headers already sent” lines) are still there. A quick internet search suggests this could be caused by extra whitespace in a php file somewhere. I deleted a blank line from the end of download.php, which is the file the warnings were referencing, and re-uploaded it, but it didn’t change anything.
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent in […]/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/download.php on line 131
I’ve also tried reverting to older plugin versions, including 3.5.0, which is the version Ivy sent me on 5/31, and 2.6.2, which is the version I was running prior to these upgrades. Neither resulted in any change.
June 5, 2010 at 4:48 pm #18495Michael DeLucaParticipantAnother update: with my host’s help to flush the server cache, I got version 2.6.2 of the plugin working such that the “Requested File Could Not Be Found” error no longer occurs. For the moment, I’m satisfied with this as a solution.
June 15, 2010 at 5:18 pm #18496DavidMemberHi
Can you help me, I’m getting the requested file cannot be found after trying to download from the email.
I’ve deleted .htpasswd and .htaccess from the downloads folder
I don’t have any spaces in the URLs
I’m using full URLs
The real URLs download fine – it’s just the encrypted ones from the emails
The site is http://www.bristoleditor.co.uk and I’ve been really bashing my head against the wall with this one!
Help
David
