No problems until today, when using the Admin function to manually generate and send some download links, I started receiving the “Your request timed out. Please retry the request.” notice on a white page. If I reloaded the page, then I got the “email sent” popup–but really don’t have any confidence whether the intended recipients received:
1. no emails
2. one email
3. two emails
By the way, this happened shortly after logging into WordPress and I did not draft the emails and then sit on them before sending. Other than that, it’s a great productivity-enhancing product.
This is a server related issue. If your server takes too long to respond to a certain request then the PHP script will time out.
