I have 2 main membership levels: A free one and a purchased one (I call them non-member and member, respectively). I also have 2 other special levels that represent special status of some of our members. I use those special ones to give some members access to other parts of the website aside from their main membership level. These special ones are not purchased. When a non-member purchases a membership I would like their non-member level to be replaced by the member level. Instead it is “adding” to it. Is there a way to have it replace the membership level? I have secondary memberships turned on since I have these 2 other special membership levels.
Thanks!
Kyla Miller
There are two possible behaviors in terms of how membership levels are added to a member’s account:
#1) By default membership levels are replaced. The member will have the last membership level that he purchases.
#2) When you enable the following “multiple level per member” feature, it will change the behavior to stacking the membership levels (each level they purchase, it will get added to their profile):
You have to decide which of these two models you want to use for your site. you can’t have both of those behaviors on the same install at the same time.
To me it feels like you don’t need the secondary level feature since you want the #1 option (the default behavior).
