Hi there
using the latest V5.6.9 but loaded V5.6.7 too for checking .
Email Registration text is not correct
[http://img.skitch.com/20100917-xypxd964hae1w12narnph9su5c.jpg]
I do have a registration page setup but the link in the email is not correct
“You have reset your password.
Membership details:
Username: {user_name}
Password: {password}
Thank You”
Manually creating a link is correct though in the Admin Functions, so why not in the mail .
Following through with this link to create a User Account
it seems I cannot add multiple membership levels to the same account not unless I create a new account and different email address.
My setup I guess this helps
Using wp-eStore i have different products to match individual membership levels
Product A – Personal , Product A – Developer. Product B – Personal – Personal , Product B Developer and so on
Is there a way I can solve the registration email issue?
and importantly handle multiple levels for the same accounts?
Thanks in advance

I sent you another build of eMember which should take care of this bug.
“it seems I cannot add multiple membership levels to the same account” – WordPress doesn’t let you create two user accounts with the same email address in the same installation. I am pretty sure the same is true for simple press forum plugin. This is why we have this restriction in eMember. Otherwise a wordpress user integration is impossible as you will have one member who doesn’t have a corresponding wordpress user account. Let me know if it makes sense.
Not sure if this will fit your need but you can create additional membership levels such as “Product A personal + Product A developer” and then let people upgrade to this level who wants to buy both accounts rather than creating separate accounts.
September 18, 2010 at 7:06 am #24437KevinMemberWould it not be easier to remove any thinking on the customer to have an option in the registration of the new product , ‘Already a Customer,/ Member ? Then sign in here’ where they will go to a login page enter their credentials and get the new product/level assigned to them.
By all means if they want to create another account that is fine but then there would be a suitable way for existing customers/members to have additional levels.
September 18, 2010 at 12:33 pm #24438KevinMemberPS I have looked into create a Product A Personal + Product A Developer instance but since I am selling digital goods, they will also want Product B, C and so on.This way I can silo information and communication relevant for each type of customer level.
Doing a Auto Upgrade Level will not fit my needs as this only works on a number of days duration.
September 19, 2010 at 4:18 am #24439amin007ParticipantIf you need your members to have multiple accounts for different membership levels then you can’t do it using eMember.
Membership renewal or upgrade is pretty easy actually. Whenever a member makes a payment for a membership (the buttons you created for different membership level payment) his/her account will get automatically upgraded to that level after the payment. No need to fill any form anymore. So you just have to instruct your members to go to a page that has various membership payment buttons and make a payment.

Simple:Press Forum lets a user accumulate forum access based on roles they are assigned. If you assign a person to 4 different roles, one after another in WordPress, then they will have access to 4 different Forums by the time you are done. Yep, they can only have 1 role at a time. But they can have multiple Forum memberships triggered by the roles that have been assigned to them.
I will be adjusting things to work here – One account, multiple memberships. It would be nice if eMember could do this without modification. When a customer gets “Video Training A” they will gain access to a discussion area for that in my Simple:Press Forum. When they then get “Video Training E” they will additionally get access to THAT discussion area in my forum.
And I plan to give them access to BOTH membership areas of eMember. If I have to, I’ll hack something up based on “capabilities” – people can still have as many capabilities as you like. So I’ll have capability “Video Training A” and “Video Training B” and “Video Training C” and “Video Training D” and “Video Training E” and … You get the idea.
Amin – you could make this work much faster than me. Would be great if you beat me to it, mate…!
Cheers,
Tim

September 28, 2010 at 7:28 am #24442IMGIGClubMemberHooray! If this gets added, it WILL make me jump for joy!!
September 29, 2010 at 1:12 am #24443amin007ParticipantTrust me I want to add this but I need to make sure we add it in a way that doesn’t complicate the overall setup otherwise I loose the benefit of the plugin being easy to use.
October 1, 2010 at 5:19 am #24444KevinMemberHi there
I am looking to be able to have a non linear access for members.
If I have 100 classrooms (levels) and a person purchases class #2 and is offered an upgrade to #3 and #4 during the process of watching videos on each preceding level and they buy those but along the way but then also purchases classroom #57, can their access be limited to just these 4 levels and not all levels from #4 to #57 ?
Or does the plugin allow access to all levels from the highest number down?
Thanks again
October 2, 2010 at 2:10 am #24445amin007ParticipanteMember does not protect content in a linear way. A member can be part of one membership level and the membership level governs what content he/she can see. You customize what each membership level can see from the “Manage Content” protection menu.
January 1, 2012 at 12:21 am #24446alloneinvestmentsMemberI have a similar issue, but am confused about whether the above thread confirms what I want to do will or will not work. Thank you for your help with this.
I am trying to add a second free membership to my wordpress blog.
I’ve added the free membership registration shortcode [wp_eMember_registration_form_for level=7] to the page, so the registration form shows up.
However, when a paid member of the site tries to fill out the free membership registration form I added using the same username and email as their paid membership, the emember plugin gives the following error: “Email:The email address you are using is already taken! Please choose a different email address.” (Get similar error message regarding use of same username as well.)
Some of my paid members may not have more than 1 email address. Is there a way to setup the second free membership so that paid members can use the same username/email for their free membership?
– I have the button allowing secondary membership enabled in emember settings.
– I have free membership enabled in emember settings, but do not offer this first free membership anywhere on the site. (I just allow the basic free members to use the subscribe by email function instead.)
– emember version: v7.2.3
– page where issue is happening: http://simpleascension.com/free-gift-15chakra-intro3/
Thank you!
January 1, 2012 at 5:39 am #24447adminKeymasterYour existing members shouldn’t have to go through the member registration process again to become a member of a different membership level again. Since they are already a member you simply add this membership level to their existing profile (multiple membership feature allows you to assign multiple levels to one member profile).
You can also place a button on that page with the following shortcode to allow your existing member to add this membership level to their profile just by clicking it.
[wp_eMember_upgrade_membership_level_to level=7]
You can also keep the above button protected with section protection of eMember so only existing members can interact with this button.
