Hi,
I wonder if you can help me?
With the coming enforcement of GDPR (May 24 2018) in the UK and EU we are required to have a GDPR consent check box on our registration and membership forms. I have implemented this on the registration form using the Form Builder add-on, but we first require the signing member to register their name and email address before the registration process begins. Please see here: hymnsocietygbi.org.uk/join-us/registration/ Is it possible to add a consent check box to this form, please? If so, how would I go about this?

From a legal standpoint, you are not collecting data; you are merely verifying the email address required to begin the registration process. This is even stated on that first form. Also, the reason for asking for that information does not fall into any of the “Lawful basis for processing” categories of GDPR:

Once the registration form has been completed, the name and email address are considered to have been “collected” and stored.
In other words, the consent checkbox you added to the registration form should be sufficiently compliant.
Okay, thanks for clearing this up for me, that’s very helpful.
