I am attempting register a user that has been previously deleted months ago. I am receiving an error that “The email address you are using is already taken!”.
* The member list does not show the email address as being used.
* Should it be a concern that the email address is already being used? It is possible that 2 family members wish to register but they may have the same email address.
* The registration form that allows the user to complete the registration does not allow the email address to be changed – the email field shows the email address but I cannot modify the field.
Yes, I have searched the forum and found references to the problem but not the solution.
I used the phrase “The email address you are using is already taken!” to search the forums but this phrase is not accepted in the “keyphrases” field.
Thank you . . .
Richard
Hi Richard, Go to your WP Users menu. Check the users list and it is likely that you have a user with that email address already.
Simply import that user into emember (rather than trying to create a new one). The following post will explain how:

ONE email address can ONLY be used to create ONE user account (it is a restriction from WordPress).
Thank you for your quick response – and the solution.
Thank you . . .
Richard
