    Hi –

I am displaying the cart button in a sidebar on my checkout page. When a product is added to the cart, the page reloads and it isn’t immediately obvious that the user has added something to the cart.

Is there any way I can a) redirect to an internal link so the cart is at the top or b) add a message at the top after the page reloads?

I am a developer so if there is a place in the code I can do this that would be helpful as well. Had a hard time looking through the plugin files.

    Thanks!

The following posts should help you:

Thanks. The second post was helpful. However, I already have the “Allow Shopping Cart Anchor” checked. I do not see #wp_cart_anchor being appended to the URL after adding to cart.

The code I am using for the products is:

    [wp_eStore_category_products_fancy id=1 style=1]

the cart is in a widget area, using this code:

    [wp_eStore_cart]

Can you please share a link to the add to cart page so I can take a look?

Sure – It’s in coming soon mode. First login in here:

Then click here to get to the page:

Thank you. It doesn’t look like you have the anchor option enabled. I will take a look inside you site which will give me more details. I have sent you an email for it.

I am also having an issue with the page not going to the shopping cart when I add a product.

I have the “Allow Shopping Cart Anchor” checked.

The #wp_cart_anchor text is being appended to the URL after I add a product to my cart.

I only have the cart in the sidebar widget and this is the code I’m using:

    [wp_eStore_cart_fancy1]

I even added the a name before the [wp_eStore_cart_fancy1] but this did not help.

    [wp_eStore_cart_fancy1]

    Can you please assist?

    Thanks,

    Joanne

Have you done step 4 and 5 from the following post?

Yes, I have done these steps. But after I add a product to the cart, the page stays where it is and does not redirect up to the sidebar cart widget.

Here is a screenshot of the settings in admin – http://awesomescreenshot.com/09f3o1my50.

Here is a short video of what happens when I add a product to the cart – https://www.dropbox.com/s/dspm4uxd2473l3t/My%20Screencast.mp4?dl=0.

Please let me know what I should do to correct this.

    Thanks

@premierweb, I believe you are using the ajax method. Please disable that option in the settings and see how it goes. It’s under WP eStore -> Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Enable Ajax on Add to Cart Buttons.

Yes, that worked! After disabling that setting, the page went to the cart anchor.

Thanks very much for your help:)
