Hi,
Is it possible to manually send registration/confirmation emails to customers using a new email address (or even just another time to the same address)? A common scenario seems to be customers with outdated paypal email addresses not receiving their important emails, and I end up having to re-create their entire account manually (since I can’t add/edit a username for existing accounts).
Thanks
B
December 5, 2012 at 6:14 am #52073adminKeymasterThe registration completion email gets sent out as soon as the user makes a payment on PayPal so I am not sure how the email address can go outdated in that 5-10 minutes time. This is something that should never happen. Anyway, you (the admin) can always complete the registration for the user from the eMember admin dashboard (you don’t have to delete the entire account and create a new one).
Lets say a user has contacted you telling you that their PayPal email is outdated. You can ask them the following info:
1) Username that he wants to use
2) The correct email address of the user
Now, simply go to eMember dashboard, pull up the member record for that user and fill in the username, update the email address and the registration is complete. The user can now go to the login page and log in as a member (remember, a user can reset the password using the forgot password utility).
December 5, 2012 at 10:02 am #52074bentley74MemberI wasn’t saying that the email address goes out of date in 5-10 minutes (lol). What I was saying is that the default Paypal e-mail address (where the emails seem to go when a customer has a Paypal account) is sometimes out of date without the customer necessarily knowing about it. OR there are cases where a customer has made a mistake typing it in etc.
Bottom-line (regardless of the details) there ARE times when it would be very helpful to be able to simply press a button from within eMember and be able to resend the emails for a given customer.
In cases where I am (or plan to) use PDF stamper, it’s not just a matter of entering user login. I need to fill out a full account with address etc.
I seem to recall a feature in WishList (not trying to compare too much – I love eMember!) where you could complete registrations for customers if something went wrong (emails went missing etc etc). This sort of feature would be VERY helpful.
Thanks kindly for your time

December 6, 2012 at 1:30 am #52075adminKeymaster“you could complete registrations for customers” – You can do that too. Thats what I explained in my previous post. Are you saying you (the admin) can’t complete the registration of a user by going to eMember’s member dashboard like I explained in the previous post?
You (the admin) can also recreate the registration completion link (check the admin functions menu) and use it yourself to complete the registration.
December 6, 2012 at 2:15 am #52076bentley74MemberWhat I meant was that there is a way you can literally fill out the same registration form that the customers are presented with – NOT adding them from within the eMember interface. None of this would be an issue if it wasn’t for the fact that you can’t edit usernames (still haven’t figured out why exactly that is). If that wasn’t the case I’d simply finished off registrations for people. As it stands, when they are incomplete (and this seems to happen a fair bit) I basically have to do them from scratch. I thought it would handy if I could send them the same registration invitation email again (to a different email address if need be. OR – perhaps if there was even a way for me to get a copy of the email they receive (the same way I do for the e-cart confirmation email) THAT would be cool. Then I could just follow the link and do the registration for them if need be.
December 6, 2012 at 2:19 am #52077bentley74MemberOh wait a minute!! lol
I JUST realized that there is a manual registration link creator (and even an option to email it to customer)
Get the feeling you must have not been clear on what exactly I was asking for.
Pretty sure this is EXACTLY what I need.
Sorry about that!
