I have a number of questions on the multiple memberships and how they function. My primary memberships are set for 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months. There are then secondary memberships set for 30 days for selective content.
1)If someone has a 1 month membership and their 1 Month is not yet up but they buy a 6 months membership before their one month membership is finished are the remaining days of the 1 month added to their 6 months or are they then holding two memberships – one for 6 months and one for the remaining days in the one month?
2) If a person with a 1 month membership buys a 6 month membership before their month is up, do they have to set up a second account for the 6 months? In other words they will have to setup a second username and password for the 6 month memberships because their 1 month membership is not yet up.
3) Is there a shortcode that shows them how many days are left in their multiple memberships? I found a shortcode that shows a member their various multiple levels but it does not show an expiry date and does not show the status of the various multiple accounts. For example right now it shows them a primary level and secondary level but I only have a shortcode for the expiry date of the primary level. I need the shortcode to show members when their secondary level expires or if it has expired.
4)When a level expires does the program send out a reminder to renew for the secondary level?
5) I could not figure out how in the renewal reminder message to include the shortcode which tells the member which membership is expiring, either the primary or the secondary level. For example something like “This is a reminder that your 6 month primary membership is expiring”. But I would also need it to send out a reminder when the secondary level was expiring such as “This is a reminder that your 1 month secondary level membership is expiring” – something like this so that when I am using multiple memberships the member knows which of his membership is expiring.
Thank you for the information. I did a lot of searches but found very little on the forum and no video tutorials on the multiple membership aspects of the plug-in. Thanks.

March 5, 2014 at 12:10 am #61213avd23SpectatorI guess after 4 days of no answer my question is too involved. That’s okay. I have set up a test site and I can find out the answers with a bit of work.
March 5, 2014 at 4:27 am #61214adminKeymasterSorry for not being able to give you a good reply. I read your post a couple of times but I just couldn’t really come up with a satisfying answer. We are good at replying a question that points out a technical issue with the plugin. For example we can handle a question like that following but not like the one you posted:
XYZ feature is not working
March 7, 2014 at 4:37 am #61215avd23SpectatorI can understand. Perhaps a better help file on the multiple membership would be helpful. I set it up on a test site and I have learned a great deal about what it can and cannot do. For instance it definitely does not send out emails on the secondary accounts when they are about to expire and/or have expired. The emails are on the primary account only. You might want to add that feature in a new release.
I also found you have to set up the primary membership differently because they do not add the time periods together. Therefore you are better to have not monthly memberships or time memberships but classes of memberships like Bronze, Silver, Gold that sort of thing.
I also found there is no shortcode for showing an expiry date for the secondary levels of membership. You might want to consider adding that as well.
The multiple membership feature has a lot to offer when it is structured to take advantage of it.
Thanks for your reply.
March 30, 2015 at 5:25 pm #61216orjanmenMemberI would also like the option to send out “Secondary Account Upgrade” notification, and a email before/after the secondary account expires.
I use the secondary level to give privileges in WP (author etc, not only subscriber). I would love the option to let the user apply for secondary level. I could ad it as a free membership, but then it shows on the Register Page, and I have no control of who gets access.
