ParticipantHi,
I’m just wondering if would be possible to override the default currency with an alternate on a *per product* basis.
I realise there’s a secondary currency that can be displayed. However, thinking it through, a slightly better way of doing this could be simply by having 2 input fields that displayed, 1) the default currency symbol and 2) the default currency code, which then could be overridden if necessary.
The reason I ask is that I have a client who is looking to do trainings in various countries. Having only 2 currency options can be restrictive. The ability to override the default currency options would create greater flexibility (as I noted some other users have also asked about multiple currencies on the forum).
Not a major issue if it’s not possible. I’ll just tell them it’s not possible! Would be a nice feature though…
Cheers,
Zain

KeymasterYou can override the currency code on a per product basis if you are using “Buy Now” type buttons. Edit a product and look under the “Buy Now or Subscription Type Button Specific Settings” section.
This can’t be used with “Add to cart” type buttons because you can’t add an item to the cart in Dollar then add another item to the cart which is in Euro (you can’t sum Dollar and Euro).

ParticipantHi,
This is absolutely perfect. And for it to work only with Buy Buttons makes sense (we only needed Buy Buttons anyway!).
Quickly looking at the “Buy Now or Subscription Type Button Specific Settings”, I notice that the Currency code field is available… is there one for the Currency Symbol (£, $ etc.).
Thanks again!
Cheers,

KeymasterThe currency symbol doesn’t get passed to the payment gateway so we didn’t need to collect that info. If you just place a Buy Now button with the following shortcode, you will see that it works fine:
