Question about Product Name vs Number

Does PayPal expect a product name or a product number or can you use either in the cart button? If a product has both, which is preferrable? Does whatever you enter affect the visual results that the end user sees when shopping?

PayPal doesn’t require a Product Number but you can put it in.
