Need some advice on integrating with iTunes Inapp Purchase…
I am selling access to an APR protected page. I have 3 products:
1) One Time Access to the page
2) Monthly Unlimited Access to the page (non-recurring billing)
3) Monthly Unlimited Access to the page (recurring billing)
I am trying to figure out the best way to set this up…I have ALL eStore plugins (so no limitations there).
I am guessing that I need to setup 6 products. Three for ppl that are making these one of these purchases via the website (or not iTunes). Then 3 for iTunes ppl.
After the non-iTunes user purchases, estore should handle everything okay…(although the access to the page one-time I’m not quite sure how to correctly setup). It’s not a downloadable product. It’s a form that on the APR page, so I only want to access this page once – fill out the form – then I don’t want them to be able to go back to it if they buy the one-time purchase.
For iTunes purchasers, Apple will handle all purchases but…After they pay for their product I need to put in a URL that the buyer is sent to. So, I *think* that on this page I put a button to the product I created (that is priced at $0) – thus allowing estore to again handle the time access, monthly access, etc.
Can you offer any advice on the correct setup? I am asking this because I’m sure that other ppl may be trying to integrate InApp purchases with their mobile apps and eStore.
Should I be using membership levels instead of products to control access? If so, again…how do I only allow access to the page one time?
The same APR page is used for ALL products.
Thank you for any guidance you can provide…

eStore will email an encrypted link that leads to the APR protected page.

That may be a problem, because the URL you provide cannot be protected; either by eStore, or eMember. You may need to do some kind of “developer test” to see if the URL that you provide is visible to the user, or can be saved.
September 10, 2014 at 2:32 pm #65398ellie4905MemberOK…let me ask you this:
“although the access to the page one-time I’m not quite sure how to correctly setup…. It’s not a downloadable product. It’s a form that on the APR page, so I only want the user to access this page once and fill out the form – then I don’t want them to be able to go back to it if they buy the one-time purchase.”
How do I control access to a page one-time? As opposed to a given time limit (i.e. – hours)?
And secondly…I’m having a blonde moment with getting this process setup. Do I setup my products first or my membership levels? Or both? I’m so confused and making this 10x harder than it really it is…I know I am…if you can give me a nudge, I’d really appreciate it.
I have 2 pages:
– I need to sell one-time access to the first page
– Monthly Unlimited access to the 2nd page
– Monthly Recurring access to the 2nd page
Do I make my buy buttons, membership buttons with the product page set as the “product”? (Told you I was confused)
Lastly….Do you recommend I use the APR feature? If so, then the person couldn’t purchase the product on the mobile device and then access the page on their desktop, right? That’s a problem. Or is that now fixed with a new addon I saw recently released?
September 11, 2014 at 12:46 am #65399adminKeymasterNormally for the ONE time access, I would recommend that you use the APR feature. You can set an access count of “1” for that APR product. The problem here is that you are doing the transaction via an external solution (not estore’s integrated transaction). So I am not really sure how best to do this really. This is not a functionality we support or advertise.
September 11, 2014 at 1:56 pm #65400ellie4905MemberOkay so let’s take the iTunes part out of it. I still need to be sure I’m setting things up right for my desktop users.
3 Membership Packages (do I include my page with the content on it in the Digital Content field for each membership though? Or do I set those up as separate products? I think that’s where I am confused…) I have watched the video, and I understand how to setup the levels, but just not sure about this part.
– One time access
– Monthly recurring
– Monthly non-recurring
Then use section protection to protection instead of APR so member will see content regardless of device they login from.
If I am using estore for everything do still need to use the “special” shortcode Paypal formatted buttons for subscription membership?
September 12, 2014 at 1:17 am #65401adminKeymasterThis would be my recommendation:
Create 3 eStore products for your 3 different scenarios:
1) Crete one product for the “One Time Access” page using the APR feature.
https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/using-wordpress-permalinks-as-digital-products-apr-1217
This has nothing to do with membership or anything. It is just a “pay” to access that page for ONE time. A customer can pay then click an encrypted link to access this page. Later they can’t come back and see the content of the page anymore (unless they pay again).
2) Create a subscription product for “monthly recurring” option. This will be hooked to a membership level. You will also create a new page with the same content from step#1 but this page will be protected using eMember so only members of a *certain access level* can view this page’s content.
3) Create another product for “monthly non-recurring” option (Just a one time buy now button). This will be hooked to another membership level.
