Tips and Tricks HQ Support Portal › Forums › WP eStore Forum › protecting the streaming video URL source in the html page source code
Hi,
after clicking on the encrypted link on “Thank You” page and get to the html page where the embed video is, even though the URL Address of the page is masked, if you right click on the page and select “view source” you can see all the source codes behind the page and at the very top the streaming URL source where the video is coming from is completely exposed.
Seeing this information beats the whole purpose of pay per view and securing the content.
how can this be prevented?
There are 2 things that can be done…
1. Use something like Lightbox Ultimate to stream from Amazon S3.
2. 2 days ago we added Authenticated Page Redirect (APR) to eStore. when APR is used, an encrypted cookie is required to view the page. Documentation on APR is forthcoming.
Thanks WZP for you quick respond.
I shall wait for documentation on APR. I am subscribe to a different online video platform where all my video contents are encoded and saved.
I don’t know anything about this APR, any info you can provide for now until the documents become available.
Thanks
