I am a new user and not super technical. I watched all of the videos and when I add products and categories it says they are created at the top when I hit “Save Product” however, no products are categories are showing up. I did a search and found a post where people were talking about tables and SQL server but I do not know how to do that. Please help.
Thanks!

You shouldn’t have to do anything with the SQL server. If you have recently upgraded the plugin then there is a good chance that you forgot to do the “deactivation” and “reactivation” of the plugin.
If this is the first time you are installing it then please deactivate the plugin and reactivate it but at activation time pay close attention to see if you get any “Fatal Error… ” message. Let me know how you go.
May 23, 2010 at 12:58 am #20878stmphotoMemberOkay.. I deactivated and reactivated. I didnt notice any fatal error..
it is still not working.
Anything else I can try?
Thanks much!

July 11, 2010 at 8:09 am #20882SpaceFairyMemberHi again,
After upgrading the plugin I am now having the same issue. It says the new product is created, but it doesn’t save.
I forgot to deactivate the plugin before I upgraded it, but I deactivated then reactivated it again afterwards.
Help please!
Thanks, best wishes,
Melinda

Basically it happens if you don’t do the deactivation and reactivation properly at upgrade time but it’s not a big issue (there is nothing fatal that you can do here so relax
I will jump on your server and fix it for you. Expect an email from us.
July 12, 2010 at 1:45 am #20884SpaceFairyMemberYou fixed it already. Thanks heaps!
August 20, 2010 at 4:43 pm #20885WilfredMemberI have created products in add/edit new post under categories. but products also appear in archives. Is there any way to display only in categories and not in archives.
Thanks
wilfred
August 21, 2010 at 2:54 am #20886amin007ParticipantI am bit confused with what you are saying. How can eStore have anything to do with “archives” pages?
August 21, 2010 at 7:32 am #20887WilfredMemberI have created a product under add/edit product under the one categories (eStore). After having done that, I also display the said product in the add/edit post under the correct category. However it also duplicate a copy going archives (widget) which means the product also go to archives. I belive something not done correctly. Pl advise.

Thank you

You don’t have to place a post in archive for it to go into archive. This word “archive” means… a collection of old records. So if you are showing the archives widget of wordpress then ofcourse someone will be able to browse all your old post. This has got nothing to do with the WP eStore or any other plugin.
March 9, 2017 at 5:06 am #20889Healthylivingchick11MemberI initially added the plug in before I deactivated and deleted the older free “PayPal Cart” version. But I did not activate the new WP ESTORE. I realized I needed to remove it, then follow exact steps to upgrade which I did. Now, buttons are not showing up for products in the grid. They only show up like [ wp_store_…] etc….
How do I fix this so the buttons show up again in the store?
In the meantime–we went back to the old store version until this is figured out.

March 9, 2017 at 10:46 pm #20890adminKeymasterIf the shortcode just shows up instead of the button then that means you have a typo in the shortcode.
All the eStore plugin shortcodes are listed in the following documentation. Make sure to copy and paste the shortcode from there.
https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/wp-estore-shortcodes-and-functions-reference-460
Create a test page and put the estore shortcode (that you want to use) then share the URL of that page so I can see if you have entered the correct shortcode or not.
You can keep both eStore and the simple cart plugins active at the same time.
