Tagged: product sku, SKU
Hi Folks,
I use WP-eStore as a drop-shipper and really like it a lot!
One thing I am trying to do is automate the product codes or SKU’s in the notification email I receive when a sale is made.
It would be really great if someone buys a “Big Berkey Water Purification System” that the email also told me the product SKU that I need to forward on to the shipper i.e “BB4x22bb” or something like that.
I really don’t want the customers to see the SKU numbers as it will just be confusing, but it would keep me from having to look up product ID’s/SKU’s every time I make a sale.
Any thoughts on how to pull this off?
FYI, my site is: [http://www.waterpurificationsystems.co]
Thanks,
Bill
One of the easiest ways is to add the Product SKU to your product name like the following:
Product Name [SKU]
Here is an example:
Big Berkey Water Purification System [BB4X22YZ]
It is a common practice to have product names like that. The notification email you received after the sale will have the product name like the above which contains your SKU number.
You could also put the product SKU number in the product description area for your reference. For example, in the product description area you can enter something like the following:
SKU: 12345ABXYZ
If you don’t want to specify the product SKU in the product name or product description section then you can probably print out a chart that has all the product names and the corresponding SKU’s and keep it handy so you can look it up after a sale without logging into your WP admin.
