In the Sandbox accts, you need to have ALL of the accounts (both Seller and buyer accts) set on Payment Review – Disabled, which is actually the default setting.

Another thing to note is that PayPal sandbox does not support all the currencies (e.g. YEN). So if you are testing with a currency that is not supported it will also make the payment pending.February 2, 2010 at 10:11 pm #16625cerkitMember
It seems that an account can be in review for many reasons. When PayPal finally decides to approve the transaction, do they send notification back to the WP eStore so that the product delivery email can be sent? I have tested the system with both the Sandbox and with a test product costing 0.01 USD. They both give me the same result…

“IPN product validation failed” – this does not mean that the payment is in review state. It could fail for other reasons too… the debug file should have more info as to why it failed though.February 3, 2010 at 1:48 am #16627cerkitMember

It certainly helped me – as soon as I turned both Sandbox email accounts (Payment Review) to disabled, it worked.
