Product ID and PayPal Item number

I am sorry for being a newbee.

I see that we can’t change the Product ID and I understand why.

But how can I go about setting this up so when it goes to PayPal for the Item Number it will show our Item Number out of Quote Works and not the Product ID from the cart.

I don’t mind hand typing in the Item Number.

Is there a addon for this? Or am I just missing it all together.

Reading the forum looks like other have the same question but never found some one that new how to do this.

Why I asking for this.

As an order is placed and paid with paypal. Shipping department get the PayPal email.

When they go and pull the item they compare the Item Number on the self to the PayPal order Item Number.

With the default setup they don’t match.

This is how I would like to see it. (PayPal Page)

RS232 Cable (25Ft) (Haas) (9Pin)

Item number: GRIZ-025

Item price: $37.50

Quantity: 1

This is how it show it now. (PayPal Page)

RS232 Cable (25Ft) (Haas) (9Pin)

Item number: 2

Item price: $37.50

Quantity: 1

Add this *item number* value in your product name like the following:

RS232 Cable - GRIZ-025

or

GRIZ-025 - RS232 Cable

This way that number will still be in the PayPal receipt and your shipping department can process it.

Okay Yes I can do that for now that is a work around to the problem.

Or you guys going to have the way to let us change the Item Number in the future?

This would be very helpful and allow us to match thing better. And keep better track of things.

It’s just your number has nothing to do with our system so that why I would like to remove it all-together.
